The IYPT, also referred to as “Physics World Cup”, is a team-oriented scientific competition among teams of secondary school students.
The participants present their solutions to scientific problems they have prepared over several months and then discuss their solutions with other teams. The roles of Reporter (Presentation), Opponent and Reviewer are graded by a jury consisting of international experts.
The Tournament has grown since its establishment in 1988, from a Soviet-based Russian-language competition, into one of the World’s largest and most prestigious international physics contests with nations from all regions of the World competing annually.
Hellenic Physical Society (EEF) is the official representative of Greece in the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT).
The Hellenic Physical Society (Ε.Ε.F.) is a non-profit Scientific Society, founded in 1930.
E.E.F. represents the Greek scientists of Physics, Physics Technologies and Physics of Communication.
